Now that you’ve booked your service, here are some frequently asked questions to allow for a seamless appointment.

 
 

WINDOW CLEANING

 
 

Exterior Window Cleaning Only

Preparing for appointment

  • Please shut all of your windows and doors

  • Unlock your screen doors so we can slide the screen door over and clean both panes

  • Unlock the gate to your backyard or provide us with the code so we can access your backyard (If applicable)

What if my windows have external screens

  • If your windows have external screens that are spring loaded, we can removed them from outside, clean the window and place them back

    • We can also clean the screens for an additional charge

  • If the springs have latching mechanisms, they must be removed prior to our arrival

    • We can also remove the screens, clean them, and place them back for an additional charge

Garage door windows

  • As default our quotes do not include small garage door windows as they tend to be plastic and are usually covered by inserts

    • If you would still like them to be cleaned or if they are glass, let us know and we can include that in our visit

Does someone need to be home?

  • Since we are only doing external work, no one needs to be home during the appointment

  • We can email the invoice to be paid online by e-transfer or credit card upon completion

Interior and Exterior Window Cleaning

Preparing for appointment

  • Remove items off your window sills prior to our arrival

  • Clear the area directly in front of the window

  • Either someone needs to be home or we need access to the interior of the house (garage code, key pad or key). Please coordinate this with our scheduler.

What are window tracks?

  • Window tracks are the channels or grooves in which window sashes (the framework holding the glass) slide or crank open and closed

  • Any service that specifies cleaning tracks, includes sliding or cranking open all non-fixed windows and cleaning the opening mechanism (as shown on the photo to the left)

  • Keep in mind we cannot remove permanent debris like rust, discolouration and/or scuff marks


How do you clean windows?

Traditional method (Applicator and Squeegee)

  • This method involves applying a simple solution of water and soap to your windows with an applicator (sponge) agitating the dirt on the glass, and removing it using a squeegee for a streak-free finish

  • Depending on the type of glass being cleaned, additional abrasives can be used to remove more stubborn, caked on debris

Water-fed pole (WFP)

  • This method uses purified water and a telescopic pole with a brush to clean windows from the ground, eliminating the need for ladders and squeegees

  • The system works by pumping purified water up the pole to the brush, which agitates and loosens dirt and grime from the window surface

  • The pure water then rinses the window, and because it's free of minerals and other impurities, it dries spot-free

Window Deficiencies

Hard-water stains

  • In some regions water contains high levels of minerals and compounds such as magnesium, calcium, bicarbonates and sulfates. This is commonly referred to as hard water. When hard water contacts your windows, it leaves spots on the surface.

  • These stains will progressively become more permanent if left untreated and more hard-water lands and dries on the glass.

  • The earlier these stains can get treated, the more likely they can be removed. We cannot guarantee the removal of excessive hard-water stains.

Broken window seals

  • A broken or failed window seal causes condensation to occur between a double or triple pane window. Not only does this look unpleasant, windows with broken seals lose their efficiency.

  • Unfortunately, window seals can’t last forever. A window seal often starts to fail long before obvious signs appear. Due to a seal failure, your windows can lose insulating properties. The only real way to repair this is to replace the affected windows.

Construction Defects

  • There are numerous construction defects that a regular window cleaning cannot remove:

    • Paint, mortar, baked on sticker/tape glue, burn marks, scoffs and chips, cannot be removed from frames and/or screens. We do provide a service where we can replace your screen mesh though.

    • Burn marks, scratches, chips, as well as excessive paint and mortar splatters cannot be removed from glass, especially if the glass is tempered.

How often should eavestroughs be cleaned?

  • This will always depend on the amount of tree cover your property has, as well as the condition of your eavestroughs. As a standard, you should have the eavestroughs cleaned once every one to two years, but in some cases they might need to be cleaned twice a year, or more.

  • Properly maintaining your eavestrough can help extend their lifetime, as well as help you avoid water and ice damage around your property.

Eavestrough Repairs

Eavestrough Seal

  • Your eavestroughs may come in sections connected by joints that have to be sealed. Over time these joints will start to wear and may start leaking

  • Our staff can seal your eavestrough joints when they’re on-site or we can quote them in-advance.

  • Our service professionals will first advise you if a seal seems like a possible solution or if it is unlikely to resolve the issue. In certain cases the joints may need more serious repairs then just a seal.

Hanger Installation

  • Is your eavestrough separating from the fascia on your house as seen in the photo on the left? This reduces the effectiveness of your eaves and can lead them to falling down.

  • We can fasten hangers to your existing eavestrough with a heavy duty hidden hanger with a galvanized 1/4” hex drive wood screw. This will leave your eavestrough with a cleaner look and much stronger hold than traditional spike, which tends to loosen and fall out over time.

Downspout Installation

  • Have a cracked, detached or broken downspout, we can reattach, replace or install entirely new colour-matching downspouts on your eavestroughs

  • Simply send us some photos of both the downspout and area it needs to be installed, and we can provide you with a quote or have someone come out in-person

  • This service will improve the look of the outside of any dirty eavestroughs and fascia the may be covered in debris, grime and mildew.

  • Properly maintaining your eavestrough can help extend their lifetime and avoid water and ice damage

Does my home need eavestrough protection?

  • If your home is surrounded by a lot of tall trees that shed an excessive quantity of leaves and seeds on your roof and into your eavestroughs

  • Make sure your external water is turned on so we can hook up our hose

  • Unlock the gate to your backyard or provide us with the code so we can access your backyard (If applicable)

  • Make sure all vehicles are parked on the road or far away from any eavestroughs

What product do you use?

  • Since we are only doing external work, no one needs to be home during the appointment

SCREEN REPAIR

 

 

What types of screen mesh can you replace?

  • We can replace the mesh and spline on all standard fibreglass window screens

  • We can also replace missing pull tabs

  • If it has rips, tears, or is entirely missing, we can still rescreen it

How do I request the screen repair for my service?

  • When requesting your quote, simply check off the screen repair service and in the notes add how many screens you need fixed and their size.

    • Small screen: Basement and small windows

    • Regular screen: Standard window

    • Large screen: Large window or sliding door

Can you fix broken/dented screen frames?

  • If the frame of the screen is severely dented or broken, this is not something we can fix.

  • In this case we recommend going to your local hardware store or contacting the window manufacturer/supplier to see what your options are.

How does your service work?

  • After submitting your request, we work with you on a free, no-obligation design.

  • We install the Christmas/Holiday lights and maintain them up until Dec. 24th

  • We return in the new year to take down the lights and store them.

  • The following year the same installtion will be discounted by 20-30% subject to certain conditions

Let us wash away years of grime and dirt from your surfaces. Our professional power washing and soft washing services, include cleaning:

For more delicate surfaces such as siding, roofs, fences, or decks, our soft wash method ensures a deep clean without causing damage.

GENERAL

 

 

What forms of payment are accepted?

  • In-person: Upon completion of our visit, we accept: cash, cheque or credit card in-person

  • Online: Upon completion of our visit, we can email your invoice to be paid online by e-transfer or credit card

Forecast calling for rain

  • We do not cancel or reschedule appointments in-advance due to the forecast, unless there is a 100% P.O.P. or requested to by our customer

  • In the early morning of your appointment, we will contact you by email or text to reschedule if it is a rain day. We reserve a day every week for rescheduling appointments affected by weather.

  • If you are not contacted the day of your appointment, we are still expecting to come.

Appointment reminders

  • The day prior to your appointment we will send an email with an appointment reminder that also provides our estimated arrival window.

Are you insured?

  • We have full general liability insurance and WSIB coverage

  • Our liability insurance coverage is up to $2,000,000
